Air Conditioning Sanitiser
Cleans your air conditioning system by destroying mould and fungi on the evaporator, and removing unpleasant odours.
Ever noticed that nasty warm foisty pong coming from your Air Conditioning?
Well, that is simply a combination of dust, dirt and moisture that has stuck to the evaporator of your air conditioning unit deep within your dashboard. Because the evaporator attracts moisture, it sticks to the surface and dust particles and other dirt will eventually build up on it. Over time this then becomes the perfect breeding ground for mould and fungi and this is what causes the smell. What a lovely thought!
For those of you that have a condensing tumble dryer, you'll know exactly what we mean. You have to pull out and rinse the condenser on a regular basis to remove all the dust and debris. Well, the air conditioning system in your vehicle works in pretty much the same way in theory, albeit a lot more efficiently. Obviously in a vehicle, there is no need or even any simple way to clean the evaporator and in most cases there is no need as there are filters that are easily replaced during normal servicing. However, prolonged moisture does attract mould and fungi. Mould and fungi tend to create a pong!
How do I get rid of this pong?
Well, it's a very simple process. 1 x Can of this product is enough to destroy the mould and fungi on your evaporator. However, you will need to remove the filters from the recirculation system first so if you are unsure then you will need to get your local garage or friend with some knowledge to help you out in buy now for the product to be effective. Full instructions are on the can.
How often should I use this product?
One application per year should be more than sufficient or some prefer to use it whenever they buy a new car. This way they know they will not be breathing in someone else's odours whilst operating the air conditioning system.
What if I don't use my air-con?
Even if used very occasionally, the evaporator will still have attracted moisture at some point. If left for very long periods, then mould and fungi have a better time of it and when you do come to use it, it may have an even more unpleasant odour than expected. Also, it is recommended that you switch on the air con system at least once per week to keep the compressor and other mechanical components from seizing up. Follow the manufacturers guidelines in your vehicle handbook for more information on this.
